The Global Interprofessional Therapeutic Communication Scale© (GITCS©) is a 28-item scale that was designed by a team of interprofessional experts for both formal and self-assessment of patient-provider communication. Lacking specifically evaluation tools for nontechnical skills, this scale has been developed to enhance health professional education by furthering the skills required in creating a comfortable and safe environment for patients. This scale can be used and implemented into any curriculum as a supplementary or primary tool to help students improve their communication skills.
